(Toronto, ON – January 22, 2020) – It’s been one year since Edmonton based group Altameda released their acclaimed full-length Time Hasn’t Changed You, and what a year it’s been. They kicked 2019 off by hitting the road opening for the The Trews and later that year they landed opening slots for The Sheepdogs, Dan Mangan among others, plus did their own Canadian tours and even jumped overseas for a European tour. Altameda also played a couple of incredible sets at the legendary SXSW Music Festival. Safe to say things aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
No strangers to the road, the band are gearing up once again to hit the road for some Western Canadian dates this spring playing alongside 60s rock legends The Zombies. The tour takes them to Vancouver, Victoria, Medicine Hat and more! See below for full list of tour dates.
As prolific as they are melodic, Altameda also released More Time: B-Sides From Time Hasn’t Changed You as a companion to their full album last fall. The EP included three unreleased B Sides from the Time Hasn’t Changed You recording sessions and was also produced by Aaron Goldstein.
Full and resounding, cutting and dynamic, Altameda’s sophomore record, Time Hasn’t Changed You, is full of all that makes life a beautiful mess. Brought along by warm bass lines, bluesy rhythms and the sweet whir of the wurlitzer, vocalist Troy Snaterse’s lyrics burn with nostalgia and present desire, made vivid by his talk-like cadences and emotional peaks. It will lift you out of your seat-then all at once send you spiraling down to the kitchen floor. It’s love lost and gained and lost again. It will stay with you even after vinyl and needle have parted ways. Time Hasn’t Changed You, was produced by Aaron Goldstein (City & Colour, Daniel Romano, Kathleen Edwards).
