EDMONTON’S ALTAMEDA ON TOUR THIS FALL
(Toronto, ON – Oct 1, 2019) – Edmonton-based rock band Altameda are hitting the road again! This fall, the band will be touring in support of their critically-acclaimed full-length sophomore album Time Hasn’t Changed You.
Altameda have become a must-see live act, winning over fans with each show they play and impressing audiences not only in North America but most recently in Germany. This fall they are travelling across Western Canada hitting Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton, Calgary and more. Full list below. Tickets can be bought here.
Since the release of Time Hasn’t Changed You, the band performed incredible live sessions for Toronto rock station The Edge, along with a special set for SiriusXM’s North Americana station. They were even heralded by CBC’s Grant Lawrence as, “The best Canadian rock band,” he’s heard in awhile. They also landed coveted opening slots with Sheepdogs and The Trews, playing dates with both bands earlier this year.
As prolific as they are melodic, Altameda also released More Time: B-Sides From Time Hasn’t Changed You as a companion to their full album. The EP included three unreleased B-Sides from the Time Hasn’t Changed You recording sessions and was also produced by Aaron Goldstein.
Full and resounding, cutting and dynamic, Altameda’s sophomore record, Time Hasn’t Changed You is full of all that makes life a beautiful mess. Brought along by warm bass lines, bluesy rhythms and the sweet whir of the wurlitzer, vocalist Troy Snaterse’s lyrics burn with nostalgia and present desire, made vivid by his talk-like cadences and emotional peaks. It will lift you out of your seat-then all at once send you spiralling down to the kitchen floor. It’s love lost and gained and lost again. It will stay with you even after vinyl and needle have parted ways. Time Hasn’t Changed You, was produced by Aaron Goldstein (City & Colour, Daniel Romano, Kathleen Edwards).
“Tinged with country and accented with Americana, Edmonton’s Altameda revel in western twang ‘n’ jangle. Whether it’s in a borrowed suit or a secondhand dress, the band is dead-set on repurposing classic hooks against the vibrant backdrop of their prairie sound.” – Sled Island Festival
“The best Canadian rock ‘n roll band I have heard in a while” – Grant Lawrence, CBC Music
“[Rolling Back To You] cuts across a bunch of different sounds – 70s FM rock, a country swing and strut and a big horn-led chorus, draped in gang backing vocals. It has that soul thing happening too, making it a great summer anthem – all carefree sun-kissed afternoons, hot sand and meltingasphalt.” – Post To Wire (Australia)
