(Toronto, ON – September 19, 2019) – Neo-psych outfit Lost Cousins are gearing up to hit the road with The Royal Foundry on several Western Canadian dates that include Calgary, Winnipeg, Edmonton and more. Earlier this year the band sold-out The Great Hall in Toronto and today have announced that they will be doing a very special hometown show on November 29th at The Horseshoe Tavern alongside special guestsTallies. The band will also be showcasing at Reeperbahn in Hamburg TONIGHT at Kukuun. Full list of tour dates below.
The band have shared news mixes of their track “Stay” – an alternate mix and a remix done by London, UK group Mystery Jets. William Rees from Mystery Jets took a liking to the song saying, “The song struck me instantly for all those reasons and so I’ve tried to hold onto those elements as well as nudge the song further towards the dancefloor.”
Premiered via Clash Magazine earlier this week, they rave “Both are worth absorbing, with the alternate version showing just how dexterous Lost Cousins’ songwriting can be.” The tracks were also featured on Record of the Day, calling the pair of tracks “…euphoric and a richly layered gem.”
Their debut LP In Scenery released earlier this year is a sweeping, anthemic tribute to the things one loses or gives up, and the places one longs for. The LP has earned them critical acclaim and saw them play sessions for The Strombo Showand Paste Magazine. In Scenery is technically versed and spacious; playing with different textures in the sound. It spans the entire country and collapses back into itself, feeling like a swelling tide in the ocean with a significant, sweet comedown like when the tide settles on the beach.
