10 years ago Canadian journalists Jason Schneider, Michael Barclay and Ian Jack authored the definitive Canadian alt rock tome Have Not Been The Same: The Canrock Renaissance 1985-1995, which expressed unbridled affection for the Canadian music that shaped their youth. This year the book was re-issued in expanded and updated form.
To celebrate the reissue and to complete it, Pheromone is honoured to bring this compilation of 21 rare tracks to market, in a 80 minute single CD and double vinyl album with all proceeds to the charity Kids Help Phone.
The artists are a who’s who of Canadian alternative music of the era and the repertoire is all rare and /or previously unreleased, making it essential listening for the serious music fan.
